While working on my apartment I found this Valentine that I had made back in college. My junior year in college after Kathleen and I started talking again she showed me what she called "Dirty Valentines." Her friends and herself took photos from magazines and cut up maximum, playboy and seventeen V-day issues with little quotes about love, sex and relationships. Some of the outcomes were really funny. Kathleen even sold some when she was in college and raised money for one of her clubs.
This valentine was a picture out of an old Seventeen and one of those ridiculous things that teen magazines tell young girls. I'm not saying that guys don't want a girl who is involved but there are guys that WILL like you for YOU. That isn't verbiage often used in teen magazines, except some progressive ones, but "Respect Yourself" isn't as catchy as "37 accessorizes that will blow your mind and change your life!" or "Eat junk food and lose that five pounds in five hours!"
Just a little nostalgia crafting. Lots of Love, especially because it isn't Valentines Day!

Interesting comments about teen girl magazines' approach. Too bad more young women don't see through all the hype. I like the Valentines!
