I don't care that American Apparel is trying to bring the scrunchie back. Today is all about the hair comb. If you are paying $6 for one cotton scrunchie, we need to A package of plastic clear combs can be found at your local craft store for a few dollars. For this particular hair piece I used a lace motif that Aunt Paula bestowed to me when I visited her in Colorado (Thanks AP!). Its too beautiful to just store in my lace container.
Once again instead of resorting to my Plan A (Glue Gun) I used invisible thread and a needle. Simply knotting one end of the string to the comb I stitched on the motif around each tooth. At the end I knotted the thread several times to secure its hold. Though secretly I might use a dab of glue later for more security.
Depending on how nibble your hands are... whala! Don't stop at lace. Recreate that hair piece available at any retail clothing store a big fake flower on a comb. Or start your own tend and use beef jerky, beads, McDonalds toys, sequins, dryer sheets, ect. ect.. Though I warn you now people like my sister might try to eat your head if she sees the beef jerky.
Lots of Love as always!
